CodeBass / CodeBass Radio
Where Geek & Music Combine
Immense content, and an awesome community of listeners.
The CodeBass Project launched on June 21, 2010 featuring community developers and designers who specialize in audio applications. It quickly flourished into CodeBass Radio, which can be found in iTunes, Windows Media Guide, and various other popular streaming applications and radio directories. CodeBass Radio sees an average of 1500 unique / 2000 total listeners per month, and the number continues to grow as we expand our core community.
The primary server, CodeBass Radio East, operates out of Baltimore, MD. The backup server, CodeBass Radio West, is located in Sacramento, CA and streams from Amazon S3. The CodeBass Radio website is powered by WordPress/PHP/MySQL. Web services, station programming, automated tasks and show choreography are powered by healthy doses of Adobe ColdFusion/CFML, Flash/Flex/AIR, PAL, JavaScript and MySQL. While we endeavor to experiment with a variety of A/V software, both open source and proprietary, our broadcasting software of choice is SAM Broadcaster by Spacial Audio. We most prefer Adobe Creative Suite for production and promotion.
CodeBass Radio is completely staffed by dedicated volunteers who share two very simple loves.. development and broadcasting. The team consists of many talented industry professionals who also regularly speak at conferences, manage user groups, author books and more. CodeBass Radio has afforded me the privilege to work with some amazing people, and this adventure has fulfilled me like no other.
